WE’RE MAKIN’ GROCERIES AGAIN .... CENTRAL CITY STYLE.

Once a public School, this 116-year-old building has received a complete award-winning historic renovation. It currently houses the Dryades Public Market, an art gallery, and office space. After the school was closed, the building stood vacant for several years and experienced major structural damage after a fire in 2008. It was purchased at auction by Alembic Community Development and underwent two years of historic rehabilitation. Today the Myrtle Banks building is a multi-purpose community asset: a grocery store that offers catering and a full-service bar, event space, and offices for the Arts Council, independent professional services, and non-profits as innovative incubator space for emerging businesses.
