This privy assemblage produced a diverse collection of ceramic wares. Tablewares included examples with both common transfer-printed patterns and unusual ones, like the horseman here, probably intended to represent a Mongol when it was produced as one of a series of exotic ‘Orientalist’ scenes, but here evoking the Native American Plains tribes.
