Michael Tisserand's "Krazy: George Herriman, A Life in Black and White" presents an audio comic based on the comic strip "Krazy Kat" by George Herriman, starring Panorama Jazz Band and New Orleans singer John Boutté (who is a relative of Herriman's).

In Herriman's comic, the song, "Happy Land," is commonly sung by Krazy Kat (as "Heppy Lend") after being beaned with a brick by Ignatz Mouse. Other lyrics and dialogue are adapted from "Krazy Kat" strips, especially those that highlight Krazy Kat's gender fluidity — Krazy Kat is the first non-binary character in American comics.
