The federal government offered a yearly clothing allowance to patients.
Over the years, outside charitable organizations regularly donated clothing to patients.
In the canteen, managed by the Patient Federation, patients could place their orders for clothing through catalogs, like Sears, Roebuck and Co. and Montgomery Ward.
