Brigadier General Alfred Mouton

General Mouton's 18th Louisiana Regiment fought in the Battle of Shiloh before participating in several harrassment actions against federal troops in Acadiana and Central Louisiana. The unit played a major role in the Battle of Mansfield,which represented a rare Confederate victory in the late stages of the war. Mouton was killed in action in that battle.
